Description: Through Managers, this role is accountable for leading teams that manage a large portfolio of projectsand services, including the implementation of new and ongoing maintenance of software and hardware.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain current understanding of emerging technologies.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to develop solution roadmap, identify and recommend new technology solutions to meet business needs.
  • Drive the creation of strategic and operational vision and goals in alignment with department leadership.
  • Identify long and short-range projects/plans to drive improvements in areas of assigned service responsibility.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of solutions from selection to implementation to currency upgrades and/or sunset/termination.
  • Hold direct reports accountable for driving projects and goals/objectives in a planful and organized manner, ensuing quality and timely delivery.
  • Ensure clear communication on approach, status, issues and risks on a regular basis to manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and create cost-efficient and comprehensive contracts that protect the company.
  • Develop and oversee operational and solution health metrics.
  • Ensure stability, availability and operational effectiveness of solutions.
  • Drive change implementation practices that reduce business risk and overall downtime.
  • Seek customer feedback regularly to ensure services and support are efficient and effective; surface and identify repeat problems or service challenges. Craft and drive improvement plans to close gaps.
  • Execute performance management practices that drive the growth, development and overall performance improvement of the department.
  • Lead and grow a high-performance team by selecting high potential talent, training, coaching and providing developmental assignments.
  • Participate in annual financial budgeting/planning processes.
  • Ensure actuals are managed to budget and timely communication of budget exceptions and development of plans to close gaps.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems and/or equivalent technical expertise.
  • Ten (10) years of proven progressive performance in IT.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years management experience.
  • Platform selection and implementation for large scale, complex environments.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the more complex and higher technology aspects of the field.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven leadership experience in Web, Mobile, Cloud and/or other emerging technologies.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time; occasional travel associated with support the cross-company needs and/or vendor relations
  • Expertise in CI/CD, containerization, and other DevOps practices
  • Well versed in modern integration technologies and patterns
  • Freight and Logistics industry experience
  • Agile development experience
  • MBA
