Job Description

As a Software Engineer IV on the Automation Platforms team, you will analyze, design, code, debug, test and support the software to build, support and monitor infrastructure automation services to manage Cerner's datacenter environments around the globe. You will create strategic technical designs for large scope projects within the team. You will provide high-level architecture guidance and develop specifications to resolve problems. You will develop and deploy automation tools to optimize daily activities for our team and consumers. You will support installation and maintenance of Cerner infrastructure. You will perform daily system operations tasks to ensure system integrity and availability. You will propose and lead process improvement projects for development, deployment, and application monitoring. You will share knowledge within the team through mentorship, coaching, technical talks, and blogs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • At least 9 years total combined higher education and related work experience, including:
    • 3 years software engineering work experience
    • 6 years higher education and/or additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job including:
      • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for your position
  • Due to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience with Ruby
  • Experience with Rails or other similar web frameworks
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform/Cloud Formation)
  • Experience with configuration as code (Chef/Ansible)
  • Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins/Spinnaker)
