RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce is looking for a Senior Network & Security Engineer for a full time opportunity in the (soon to be) Overland Park, KS area.

Duties of the Senior Network & Security Engineer include: Strong Cybersecurity experience across network & public/private cloud security architecture (firewalls, IDS/IPS, network behavior analytics, DNS, WAF, DDOS protection, network segmentation, etc.) Lead and support information security projects by researching, documenting, and assisting with the implementation of network security products like firewall, web proxies, DDoS mitigation solutions, etc. Provide engineering and operational support for network security products and services (new deployments, hardware refresh/upgrades, migrations and feature implementation) Security policy administration on various network security products Work closely with the architecture teams to evaluate the security readiness of new features and functionalities in network security products Improve and implement security hardening processes for overall infrastructure security, patch management and documentation Handling warehouse technical escalations Authoring technical knowledgebase articles for use by other technical support personnel and teams Participating in the normal off-hours on-call Travel to different locations if necessary to resolve major issues

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, or 5+ years relevant work experience 5+ years in a hands-on technical experience in implementing Network Security products like firewall, web proxies, DDoS mitigation solutions - knowledge of AWS network security, and Zscaler strongly preferred Cybersecurity experience across network & public/private cloud security architecture (firewalls, IDS/IPS, network behavior analytics, DNS, WAF, network segmentation, etc.) Advanced Networking Skills Required - This includes strong understanding of the protocols surrounding IP service provider networks; These skills should include: a. TCP/IP fundamentals, b. IP subnetting and supernetting and hierarchical routing principles, c. Routing protocol operation (OSPF, IS-IS, and BGP-4), d. Routing policies at BGP peering points, e. VPNs and the associated tunneling technologies (L2TP, MPLS, etc.), f. Hands on configuration experience with switches and routers preferred Strong knowledge of OWASP and familiarity with web application vulnerabilities and how to remediate them Knowledge of and experience with commercial and open source security testing tools (e.g. Checkmarx, Veracode, AppScan, AppSpider, NowSecure, Burp Suite, OWASP Zap, Arachni, Nikto, BlackDuck, Nmap, Kali Linux, Metasploit framework, Wireshark, etc.) Possess a strong understanding of security operations concepts such as perimeter defense, BYOD management, data loss protection, insider threat, kill-chain analysis, risk assessment and security metrics
