Akkodis is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for a Lead Electrical Engineer position with a client located in Des Moines, IA. The individual selected will be responsible for leading, planning, organizing, and controlling major cross-functional projects. Experience in project management and power distribution systems is required.

Job Title: Lead Electrical Engineer, Direct Hire

Salary Range: $110K - $120K (+15% Annual Bonus)

Industry: Manufacturing

Location: On-Site, Des Moines, IA

Responsibilities:

Determines method of research for the planning, design development and testing of electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes

Executes electrical design, UL508 panel construction, machine installation, programming, and startup of systems

Ensures standardization of control systems and components is maintained

Evaluates existing processes and equipment and recommends modifications and refinements resulting in cost savings, quality and safety improvements

Makes informed recommendations for additions and modifications to new and existing equipment required for manufacturing

Proposes new programs to keep equipment and processes technologically advanced and leading the industry in product quality, productivity, energy efficiency, environmental responsibility and safety

Responsible for reaching agreement with customer on cost, schedule and functionality for each new project

Responsible for meeting project goals on cost, schedule and functionality

Coordinates the efforts of other engineers, technicians, plant personnel and contractors.

Responsible for coaching/mentoring other engineers and technicians. Also responsible for reviewing and delegating work.

Responsible for Safety Design Process and Contractor Safety for all projects

Evaluate processes and communicate with operators to identify key issues through Gemba and Kaizen activities (Cont. Improvement)

Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders through cross functional teams

Responsible for electrical expertise in multiple areas of the plant.

Attends trade shows, technical seminars, and reads technical publications to keep abreast of the latest technology

Requirements:

Experience with programming Allen Bradley software is strongly desired.

Project management experience is crucial, as leading major projects is essential to the role.

Experience with Power Distribution systems.

Knowledge of AutoCad, Fanuc robotics software/operation experience is preferred, but not required.

Experience in electrical design for facility equipment is preferred.

Technical knowledge in Rockwell Automation products, Autodesk software, Fanuc robotics software/operations, Ladder Logic, Safety PLC programming and HMI design is preferred.
