Performs initial speech therapy patient evaluation visits and directs speech therapy treatments according to the physician’s plan of treatment. Establishes and updates the speech therapy plan of treatmentand in compliance with state and federal guidelines.

Reports changes in patient condition to appropriate personnel and the attending physician.

Demonstrates sensitivity to patient and caregiver needs, customs or feelings.

Provides patient care education to patients and other caregivers.

Participates in coordination of services with other disciplines and community resources as needed.

Participates in case conferences, summary reports, quarterly record review and annual program review, in-services and special case orientations.

Maintains availability requirements and productivity requirements.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree

Currently licensed to practice in the state serviced. ASHA certificate of clinical competence.

One year of Speech Therapy work experience

Must obtain and maintain current CPR/BLS Certification.

One-year speech therapy experience in a clinical setting.

Excellent clinical skills.

Strong written and verbal skills.

Ability to work closely with a wide range of professionals or a multi-disciplinary team.

Interpersonal skills that facilitate inter- and intra-team/departmental communication.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Excellent attention to detail is required.

Valid Driver’s/Chauffeurs license and auto liability insurance coverage according to organizational policy is required.

Compliant with appropriate state certification/registration and organizational requirements as necessary

General business computer skills proficiency and familiar with multiple software programs including Windows-based program
