Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting Service Excellence has an opening for a Data Scientist-Business Intelligence Engineer. As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be responsible for effective data analysis across several data sources and repositories. In this role, you will be relied upon as an advisor to various Tax & Accounting operational units as someone who can answer critical business questions related to their data. This role will work closely with business users and leadership to define reporting requirements, help to understand underlying trends and patterns within the data, and produce actionable insights to aid supported business units achieve their operational goals.The ideal candidate has the will to deep dive into data, showing a natural curiosity and passion about data. They will possess the appropriate skills to extract and derive business insights from the data with the appropriate business and social skills to share discovered insights while helping to influence relevant business and operational decisions.Critical thinking, creativity, and curiosity are a must!Role can be 100% remote, strongly prefer candidates located in CST or EST Essential Duties and responsibilities
Possess a strong analytical aptitude and demonstrate the ability to analyze data from multiple and incomplete data sources in order to provide insights
Under the direction of Senior Data Scientists, perform statistical analysis and build statistical models in R and/or Python
Under the direction of Senior Data Engineers, write ETL code and build data visualization and reporting solutions
Collaborate with and support other members of the Insights & Instrumentation Team to deliver solutions aimed at meeting supported business units’ objectives
Partner with key stakeholders to define business requirements and appropriate delivery methods and visualization for their business needs
Provide ad hoc analysis to deliver needed data and insights
Recommend process improvements and suggest alternatives towards continuous improvements of existing processes and methods
Build and maintain relationships with business stakeholders throughout the company
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Math related field of study, or equivalent professional experience
1year of data analysis experience
Exp with Python or R
1 year of experience with data visualization solutions such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik
Demonstrable experience with writing simple to medium complexity SQL queries
Preferred Qualifications:
1 year of experience with Talend or similar ETL tool
1 year of experience related to statistical analysis such as R or Python
1 year of experience with AWS Redshift or similar data warehouse technology
Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:
Strong research and analytical skills
Ability to manage time and company resources effectively
Ability to effectively prioritize tasks with the ability to multitask
Advanced computer skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook)
