Job DescriptionHybrid Position: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to cover territory visits to dealerships in a reoccurring frequency. Could require an employee to be on a GM Facility 1x4 per year.Note: The selected candidate will be required to reside in IA, IL, IN, MI, MN, OH, or WI.RoleThe Fleet Account Executive (FAE) – Government is the primary fleet contact for larger volume state and local government customers. The overall objective is to work with key government administrators and purchasing agents who buy GM products and influence non-GM customers to buy GM products and services. FAE’s – Government are measured by their volume of government sales compared to their assigned sales objective and year over year sales growth. Work involves a considerable amount of creativity, perception and a wide latitude for independent actions including significant independent judgment.Role RequirementsMaintain and service existing GM customers and seek out new conquest opportunities

Responsible for government sales/market share in the assigned region

Achieve or exceed regional state and local government sales objectives

Achieve or exceed year over year sales numbers

Provide the “face of GM” to key government organizations and build relationships

Identify customer needs related to advanced propulsion technologies

Represent GM at pre-bid meetings for state and local government entities, as well as events and shows within the government space in the SER

Assist key government dealers’ fleet managers to respond to state and municipal bid requests and drive sales

Analyze dealer sales, local market trends (sales, registration data, dealer effectiveness, lost sales) and the competition to identify sales opportunities

Communicate competitive intelligence

Keep leadership informed of market developments

Role QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related areas

Highly developed oral and written communication skills

3-5 years Experience in fleet management and direct sales experience

Ability to drive results and build relationships with key government customers

Excellent organizing and planning skills to coordinate multiple simultaneous tasks

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

High level of negotiation skills

Computer skills to develop, maintain and analyze data

Strong product knowledge and understanding of vehicle specifications

Ability to work independently and deal with conflicting priorities

Ability to think strategically and creatively

High level of presentation skills, both in development and delivery of the presentation

Ability to travel 50%

Ability to build strong relationships

Strong customer focus

Strong interpersonal skills
