This senior director position is responsible for network design, implementation, and the operation of our global data centers, backbone, internet egress, office, wireless and network security infrastructure.Reporting to this function is a team of senior engineers, directors and managers. This role is accountable for establishing strategic direction, developing engineering and operations best practices, and the delivery and service management of all network services. The candidate will have a passion for robust service monitoring and will leverage metrics and key performance indicators to drive excellence around service availability, reliability, capacity and security.As a leader, this role will invest in the career development of their direct reports and their overall organization. They will focus on building the skills and the capabilities that are required to increase team efficiency and reduce time to deliver. They will collaborate with peer organizations across BT Technology Services, Security, and our Technology and Product organizations to align strategic initiatives and to deliver on shared goals.Responsibilities:Ensures the successful execution of engineering projects by developing and implementing plans to ensure that all related projects are delivered within the planned scope, schedule, and budget

Drives continuous process improvement and innovation by identifying inefficiencies in current processes; improving the agility of the team; and adopting industry trends for innovation

Works closely with Product Management, Enterprise Architecture, Security, and Business Application Teams to develop new infrastructure capabilities

Develops and tracks key success metrics to ensure we are achieving our objective with new technologies

Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent

Guide teams to develop a multi-year roadmap for delivering new Network capabilities and enhancing existing capabilities

Alignment of IT strategy and planning with the company's business goals

Ensure the teams’ development process delivers quality and leverages agile/scrum methodologies

Identify world-class engineers, inspire them to join our team, and get them productive quickly

Supercharge the individual growth of engineers with coaching and mentorship

Minimum Qualifications:10 years of work experience in the network technology domain, with at least 2 years of experience in managing cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders

Experience in areas such as process design, Agile Scrum, re-engineering, organizational transformation, ITIL, Six Sigma and Lean and/or CMMI

Broad technical knowledge of network engineering systems

Enterprise experience within a global organization with 100,000+ employees

In-depth knowledge of engineering best practices, IT governance, and operational excellence

Must be results-oriented and able to move forward without complete information

Preferred Qualifications:BS or MS in Computer Science or Telecommunications

Experience in codifying infrastructure. Programming in Perl, Python, C/C or Java

Exposure to process and project management including PMP, ITILv3, and ITSM expertise

Experience with Agile and Scrum
