Role: Sr. Release Train Engineer Type: Contract to Hire Location: Indianapolis, IN Apex Systems, a national leader in IT staffing and solutions, is looking for a Sr. Release Train Engineer in Indianapolis, IN. This is a Contract-to-Hire role with a technology-forward healthcare company. Please see below for details! Overview Responsible for managing technical projects and/or programs (related projects managed in a coordinated way to get benefits and control not available from managing them individually) from inception to implementation. Analyzes, communicates and manages risks that threaten critical success factors. Communicates with business partners to facilitate desired outcomes and clarify expectations. Responsible for managing complex technical programs from inception to implementation. Serves as Release Train Engineer (RTE) and Agile Coach for the Agile Release Train (ART). Responsibilities

  • Responsible and sets direction, for the daily activities of program and scrum team(s) comprised of consultants, scrum masters and product owners
  • Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs)
  • Facilitate PI Planning events
  • Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings, including the ART sync at the Program Level
  • Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets
  • Help manage risks and dependencies
  • Escalate and track impediments
  • Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
  • Connects program to broader organizational goals to facilitate organizational change and adoption
  • Accountable for the program's capital and expense budget(s)
  • Leverages resources from multiple technology pyramids and business units, as well as multiple vendors, to deliver program objectives
  • Drives innovation and continuous improvement
  • Governs and communicates initiative and program level milestones and risks with Sr Leadership
  • May lead institutionalization of new project management and software development methodologies
  • Communicates and collaborates with Sr. Leadership on status, issues and decisions to drive outcomes
  • Translates technology concepts into clear, digestible business appropriate language; creates images, graphics or charts that provide exceptional clarity and connections to the business objectives, adds impact to otherwise
  • complex material, and package presentations concisely Sr Leadership
  • Navigates organizational politics and advocates successfully for the organization
  • Makes strategic decisions with approval that define the direction and impact the related business units
  • Escalates and provides recommendation on program issues to Technology leadership
Qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience leading teams and a history of successful completion of multiple large programs
  • Ability to drive forward programs and deliver value to the business
  • Experience developing scope and validating business requirements as they relate to enterprise strategy
  • Acute attention to detail and quality control; strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with multiple SDLC methodologies
  • Be a self-motivated, innovative person with analytical, problem solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to changes and new ideas.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic, culturally diverse environment.
  • Ability to understand and internalize business processes in order to deliver technical solutions to support those processes.
  • PMP, PgMP or CSM Certification
  • Agile Coach/Certification
