Data Architect

Keller Schroeder, an information technology consulting firm in Evansville, IN is seeking a Data Architect to work in our Data Strategy Group. This individual will be designing and building large-scale data models on various database platforms as well as architecting data lifecycle management solutions. This role will regularly communicate with technical and non-technical audiences to best serve client needs.

• Design and implement Database and Data Warehouse components to enable best-in-class Data Lifecycle Management.
• Analyze functional and non-functional business requirements and translate into technical data requirements; create or update existing logical and physical data models to support long-term solutions.
• Create and enforce Data Architecture and modeling standards and best practices.
• Work closely with data engineering team to define and document mapping rules for the movement of data.
• Create data models and database designs using a data modeling tool, utilizing reverse and forward engineering that depicts the business areas and systems in the technical environment to ensure data integrity is maintained.
• Review database design with development teams and generate data definition language.
• Analyze existing database queries and provide performance tuning recommendations.

• Proven experience in Data Warehousing concepts and techniques.
• Experience in data modeling, including translating business requirements into logical and physical data models.
• Advanced technical knowledge and background in Data Lifecycle Management, Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Migration and Data Integration (ETL).
• Proven understanding of various Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) platforms (Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, etc.) with hands-on Database Administrator (DBA) experience a plus.
• Experience working in cloud-based solutions.
• Ability to engage with client stakeholders at all levels with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to think strategically about business, data, and process challenges in an enterprise environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing requirements and priorities.
