Title: Production Manager

Location: Anderson, IN

Duration: 12 Months

Job Description: Support the E2E Project Manager to plan and lead investment projects and coordinate contribution of all stakeholders. Responsible for helping team to achieve the project defined capability to support the business by delivering manufacturing excellence. Coordinate with a cross-functional and multidisciplinary team whose objective is to assure that the invested resources bring the return of investment expected with flawless execution to deliver a vertical start-up.

Incumbent may be involved in various stages of the process:
  • Project design phase
  • Project implementation phase (initial project is in this phase)
  • Start-Up phase

Responsibilities may include:
  • Execute the basic and detailed design of the project. Ensure that the following characteristics of a unit operation are taken into consideration: safety, quality, affordability, maintainability, operability, and reliability. Ensure - by design - the workers' and operators' safety during both construction and the ongoing operation of the plant.
  • Support the design team to accomplish the basic and detailed design, while mobilizing the required resources and coordinating with stakeholders. Lead Current Operations Assessment and Change Impact Assessment activity to identify potential barriers that could place the project at risk. Lead the development of an Operation Start-up Plan to coordinate the operational preparation (People, Materials, Methods), including a ramp-up curve aligned to business requirements to ensure a Vertical Start-up can be achieved.
  • Lead the team and coordinate the contribution of all stakeholders to ensure the project is implemented in accordance with the defined timing, cost and quality, and the required corporate and category standards (i.e., Material and Packing Specs, Analytical methods, etc.). Ensure that all the elements of the project (including availability of raw and packing materials and people training) is performed in such a way that safety is a top priority. Complete operational preparation, including materials and methods readiness. Prepare the detailed activity schedule for Commissioning, Qualification, and Verification to ensure a vertical start-up of the project.
  • Lead the team and coordinate the contribution of all stakeholders to ensure a vertical start-up that meets manufacturing excellence criterion and required production volumes. Complete a smooth handover to operations after the qualification and verification of the installation.
  • Support the preparation and distribution of project documentation.
  • Ensure that the investment project charter has been fulfilled and that the project scope is achieved within the agreed cost and timing.
  • Manage the allocation of all operational preparation and start-up expenditure.
  • Be the Manufacturing project team leader - integrating, motivating, and delivering feedback. Act as the liaison with the steering committee and all the project's stakeholders. Keep the End-to-End Project Manager informed. Keep all the required communication channels open.

Required Experience:
  • Understand safety principles from a behavior-based approach
  • 2+ years in successful Production leadership, as Production manager or line supervisor
  • Experience with Manufacturing Projects (e.g., Project Manager, Product specialist, Process engineer, Application group)
  • Effective communication at different levels of the organization (Business, Management, R&D, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal communication and relationship skills
  • Financial and budget analysis and tracking
  • Strong understanding of factory-related departments and their roles
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Degree in an Engineering or Food Science discipline considered a plus
  • Previous SAP experience is a plus
