Job Description: Remote Project Manager

Apex Systems, the Nation's 2nd largest Technical Staffing and Services Firm, has an opening for a Project Manager at a mid-market advisory firm for a 4-month contract with the opportunity for conversion.

Engagement Deliverables:
  • Projects are managed and delivered using Azure DevOps (ADO). Deliverables include:
    • Creating and maintaining project plans in ADO
    • Identifying, reporting, and escalating risks and issues using ADO
    • Define, groom, and prioritize epics, features, and user stories
    • Facilitate Product Backlog Grooming Meetings
    • Facilitate Release Planning Workshops
    • Produce Release Plan
    • Facilitate Sprint Review and Retrospective Meeting
    • Implement sprint process improvements
    • Manage and monitor project costs against budget
Overall Scope:
  • The project manager will be responsible for planning, managing, monitoring, and controlling the implementation of Informatica's Cloud Data Governance & Catalog (CDGC) product while working with a cross-functional team of product managers, enterprise architects, business analysts, and 3rd-party vendors. This product enables GT to: scan our data repositories to create a data catalog; curate metadata for those assets; develop relationships and lineage between assets; classify assets according to our Data & Information Classification Policy; and build an enterprise business glossary to foster common understanding of concepts across business areas.
  • The project manager will also work with the team on an effort to expand identifier data within Informatica and across a number of Grant Thornton's critical IT systems to meet the demands of a quickly growing workforce. This initiative is heavily focused on work with integrations and data lakes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related business field.
  • Successful Agile project/program management experience; at least 3 in the professional services sector with an emphasis on technology and culture initiatives.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and drive solution-centric efforts across a geographically distributed Agile teams of business and technology professionals.
  • Strong background/experience with the utilization of digital, cloud-based emerging technologies and data analytics to drive innovation and client service.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills - Ability to communicate difficult subject matter in a clear and concise fashion and enable successful delivery of innovation.
  • Ability to effectively execute job duties in a collaborative manner and with sound judgement, pragmatism, and a bias toward results.
  • Self-confident, is comfortable presenting information to large groups of people, facilitating meetings, and building consensus.
  • Strong and demonstrated skills in conflict resolution, collaboration, negotiation, influencing, and leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills including critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • A practitioner of project management with multiple years of experience and practical application of various Agile project management methodologies, tools, and tactics.
  • Highly action-oriented, with a leadership style characterized by strong influencing skills; someone who is a change agent who can build collaborative relationships.
  • A practical project and change practitioner who delivers services with a pragmatic approach to solving business challenges.
  • An advocate of continuous process improvement and proven experience in driving process efficiency, and simplification.
  • An engaging and approachable personality and a significant history of working successfully with all levels of staff, from front-line through senior executive.
