Job Description: Remote IT Controls Manager

Apex Systems, the Nation's 2nd largest Technical Staffing and Services Firm, has an opening for a Remote IT Controls Manager at a global leader in audit, tax, and advisory for a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity.

Work Environment:
  • Fully remote
  • Potential 10% travel
  • Client is in PST. 8 - 5 expected, OT is possible
Overview:

Business Control Analysis, and documentation of business processes within the clients finance cycles or workflow, QTC, OTC, PTP, RTR (record to report), BPM, etc.

Scope:
  • Review operational, financial, and administrative processes to assess risk, internal control, and the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the process
  • Obtain an understanding of clients' business, objectives, strategy, operations, processes, IT systems, service providers and controls
  • Actively participate in client engagements from start to completion, which includes planning, executing, and reporting
  • Common engagements include, but are not limited to: co-sourced and outsourced internal audit, internal control assessments, enterprise risk management program assessments, tests of control design and operating effectiveness for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and other compliance requirements, and helping clients design and implement internal controls
  • Support engagement Manager and/or Senior Manager/Director in project management activities, such as preparing and managing engagement project plans, timelines, budgets, and status reporting
Engagement Deliverables:

Prepare risk and control matrices (RCMs), Control Test Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, process flowcharts, and weekly status reports in PowerPoint.

Top Must-Have Skills:
  • Business Process and/or IT Control Analysis and Design
  • Risk identification, process walk thrus, and control testing
  • Financial Process Improvement
Top Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Ability to self-manage proactively
  • Comfortable working with and presenting to senior client leadership
  • Willingness to dive in and handle uncertainty and willing to work in an unknown environment, working in ambiguity
Education/Experience:
  • Preferred certifications - CPA, or CISA, Certified internal Auditor
