- An extensive line of equipment including ovens, refrigerators, holding cabinets, mixers, and micro-green growing cabinets.
- You will be setting up processes that ensure high-quality software and doing the hands-on work of architecting embedded systems and writing software. You will also be responsible for maintaining firmware for existing products.
- Some travel may be required for this position.
- Maintain firmware written in C for existing foodservice products
- Update existing firmware to support new products
- Architect new embedded systems for connected foodservice equipment that include RTOSs, process control, network I/O, and graphical user interfaces
- Set up build systems and source version control for firmware projects
- Write firmware in C, C, Rust
- Write software for product testing including unit tests, continuous integration, and product life cycle testing
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- 10 or more years of experience in related software and hardware fields
- Strong background in embedded systems architecture
- Experience implementing process control algorithms such as PID and MPC and interfacing embedded systems to process control hardware
- Extensive experience writing and building software in embedded languages such as C, C, or Rust
- Knowledge of software development best practices including test-driven development, design for test, and continuous integration
- Experience using RTOSs such as FreeRTOS and VxWorks
- Experience configuring and managing source version control systems such as Git, Mercurial, and CVS
- Hands-on experience with hardware including the ability to safely use electronic test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes with AC-powered equipment
- High level of professional communication skills (oral and written)
- Experience in a Manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with SolidWorks a plus
