Description: Position Title: Project Manager Purchasing Position Summary: Manages, develops, and implements plant start-up project(s) at supplier location. Partners with business stakeholders to ensure a successful project completion. Key responsibilities for this position will include the following: Provide onsite support at a supplier for new plant installation, run-off & ramp up. Monitor progress against the project plan and work with supplier for recovery in case of delays. Drive project activities & anticipate potential roadblocks and bring it to the attention of right stakeholders for timely resolution. Communicate the status of project with internal stakeholders from various functions. Leads multiple projects from inception to completion; facilitates project planning sessions with internal stakeholders to determine the scope and objectives of each project; works with business stakeholders to establish project performance goals; designs project plan, develops timeline, identifies project milestones, and tracks performance against performance goals and timeline. Conducts research and analysis; provides input into the design and development of project plans and timelines. Manages project risk; uses quality tools to identify areas of risk; works with others on the team and outside the team to identify alternatives or solutions. Documents and shares team learnings with other teams; draws on other project team experiences to enhance the success of the project. Maintains project notes, databases, and other records; monitors measures and communicates with Project Sponsor and other stakeholders on status of specific projects and assignments. Identifies and assigns appropriate resources to accomplish various project tasks; guides and coaches team members through various stages of the project; provides developmental feedback to team members. Position Requirements: Manager would prefer to see candidates with completed Bachelors' Degrees. If a candidate though has relevant experience related to this position and only has an Associates' Degree, the manager is open to considering those candidates too. Prior manufacturing experience required. Prior plant start-up (installation, commissioning, run-off & ramp up) is preferred. Prior experience in the area of fabrication, welding & stamped components is preferred. Prior project management experience required. Prior experience with Project Management software is preferred. Intermediate level of relevant work experience, including team leadership experience, required. Qualifications and Competencies: Schedule Management: Manages the project schedule using the recommended project management tools and processes to drive completion within the agreed timeline. Scope Management: Manages a list of project deliverables (scope) using the recommended project management tools and processes to ensure that the project includes all the work required and only the work required to complete the project successfully. Project Issue and Risk Management: Manages the process to identify, assess and prioritize issues and risks using recommended tools and processes to minimize, monitor, and control the probability and/or impact of negative events or to maximize the realization of positive events. Business insight: Applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization's goals. Customer focus: Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions. Manages complexity: Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems. Plans and aligns: Planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals. Manages conflict: Handling conflict situations effectively, with a minimum of noise. Communicates effectively: Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences. Additional information from the manager: The need driving this opening on this team is due to current COVID travel restrictions the current team members can't travel to this location for on-site support. 100% on-site support is needed to support plant start-up projects. Once COVID restrictions are lifted, travel to other supplier sites may be needed. Working hours for this position are Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM. Some flexibility with start/end times can be accommodated as needed. Overtime may need to be worked on occasion including Saturdays. When the manager is ready to interview, he'll be requesting Zoom interviews. He wants to see candidates as he's talking to them.
