Job Description
Job Overview:Estimator Associates work on a variety of projects to develop bill of materials via construction material take-offs, needed to support our manufacturing-delivery facilities and our build crews as said projects move profitable towards completion.
Job Description:- Prepares accurate construction project material take-offs, developed from the contract & plans, to supply downstream manufacturing centers direction for material delivery and then onto the build crews for construction.
- Prepares construction plan specs used by the build crews to guides them efficiently throughout the construction process.
- Supports the manufacturing centers and the build crews with knowledge of the design details and the construction materials for customer projects as the projects progress towards finished construction.
- Prepares material orders for specialty components manufactured internally &/or purchased externally, calculating quantities and coordinating with stakeholders on the design & procurement of said components.
- Interacts & develops relationships with various individuals across the company such as engineers, architects, drafters, construction estimators, sales estimators, project managers, construction crews and sales consultants, treating each employee as a customer.
- All estimators work in a hands-on training environment that includes various training sessions with the aid of various Morton Buildings’ manuals and visual aids.
- Continuously improve knowledge of a varied product line that may include farm machinery storage facilities, suburban garages, horse barns, houses, veterinarian clinics, restaurants, churches, office complexes, manufacturing facilities and much more.
- Progressively advance the degree of difficulty of the project workload as the individual’s construction estimating skills develop.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4-year construction related degree (preferred) or 2-year degree in a construction related field with previous experience.
- Must be highly motivated with the ability to meet daily deadlines
- Previous hands on experience with Auto CAD 2011 or higher is preferred
- Self starter with a positive, willing to learn attitude and extremely detail oriented.
- Able to work independently, as well as within a team setting.
- Service minded with excellent communication skills.
