We offer our employees a positive, friendly work environment where you can grow your skills, competitive pay, and excellent benefits - Come for a walk with us today!Position Summary:The Sanitation Technician is vital to the manufacturing process, maintaining good housekeeping, following GMP-s and sanitation procedures in all areas in and around the plant including production, packaging, warehouse, food ingredient receiving and storage systems to meet the sites- Quality and Food Safety requirements.Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform cleaning and sanitation responsibilities as assigned by the Master Sanitation Schedule, throughout the plant.
Under the direction of the supervisor, inspects, promotes and maintains adherence to food safety cleanliness in the handling or product, ingredients and finished goods using proper work procedures and compliance with Food Safety Standards as defined by the FDA, FSSC 22000, AIB and/or HACCP programs.
Understand and use chemical or non-chemical pest control systems.
Ensure chemical containers are properly marked and tagged with the ability to track chemical inventory.
Hold others accountable for following all company Good Manufacturing Practices.
Safety operate forklift to perform job duties as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Workplace Safety:
Completes safety system documentation and verifies compliance to program standards. Reports deviations to Supervisor.
Participates in mandatory safety trainings and adheres to all safety policies
Required to report all safety issues, near misses, and injuries
Quality & Food Safety:
Completes quality & food safety system documentation and verifies compliance to program standards. Reports deviations to Supervisor.
Participates in mandatory food safety and quality training program requirements
Preserves the integrity of the BRC system through adherence to the policies and procedures outlined. Takes actions necessary to resolve food safety and quality system deficiencies
Required to report food safety and quality system failures and take actions necessary to preserve the BRC system.
Position Requirements:
Experience in cleaning and sanitizing within a food manufacturing environment preferred.
Self-starter. Can work independently.
Demonstrated ability to prepare appropriate documentation as required by the position.
Ability to read, write, and communicate using the English language.
Tolerance for both hot and cold environment.
Ability to work in an environment which includes frequent exposure to elements such as odor, noise, heat, cold, dust and chemicals.
Demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
Must be familiar with use of hand tools.
Good verbal and mathematical capability at a high school level.
Ability to read and understand process operating procedures.
Familiarity with computer applications.
High school diploma or GED required.
