Job Title:Health Services Researcher - Social Work & Community HealthDepartment:Community/Mental HealthShift:1stFull/Part:Active Regular FT (72 to 80 hours per pay period)Specialty:Job Number:2020-3074Job Description:Health Services ResearcherSocial Work & Community HealthPosition Highlights:Rush University Medical Center is seeking a Health Services Researcher to develop and implement initiatives and research studies to bridge the gap between practice and research related to efforts to improve the delivery, quality, equity, and financing of health care. Our work supports effective, data-driven decision making for programs in areas including care delivery systems, behavioral health, community partnerships, and aging services. This role supports the Rush mission, vision, and values, and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.The Researcher will lead evaluation efforts and support data analysis for the Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP), Engage, Educate, Empower for Equity: E4, The Rush Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health Disparities in Older Adults (E4 Center), and additional Center for Excellence in Aging (CEA) projects. The Researcher will work with program leadership to develop strategy and oversee all evaluation, data management, and analysis for the programs. Opportunity for a faculty appointment at Rush University.Current funding for the position comes from existing grants. Future funding is anticipated to include both grant and institutional support.Position Responsibilities:Plan and engage in evaluation activities
Collect and manage data from electronic health record and other sources
Develops analytic data sets for operations and research and uses statistical software to analyze data sets as requested by population health and aging program leaders
Conduct analysis and report findings for GWEP, E4 Center, and CEA projects, as well as independently led projects
Support quality improvement efforts under GWEP, E4 Center, and CEA projects, including Plan-Do-Study-Act cycles
Produce reports and visualizations of data collected
Present data and formal reports to internal and external stakeholders, including funders
Lead and collaborate on dissemination of findings via scholarly and lay publications
Participate in and lead grant writing for external funding of new projects
Communicate regularly with program leadership about all aspects of GWEP, E4 Center, CEA, and independent projects
Position Qualifications Include:Master's degree (PhD preferred) with 5+ years of experience in policy, analytics, public health, psychology, gerontology, social work, or related field
Experience in the healthcare setting and with health program evaluation preferred
Experience in research required
Strong analytic, issue resolution, and facilitation skills
Demonstrated experience in presenting complex information in an understandable and compelling manner
Ability to prioritize and multi-task to manage expectations of multiple stakeholders
Deliver high quality, timely work product with significant autonomy
Effectively adapt to rapid changes in project or data requirements, priorities, and changing directions
Strong written and verbal communication
Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills
Expertise with data and analytics tools, including SAS, Stata and/or R statistical software packages
Experience with Epic electronic health record desired but not required
Experience with financial /claims data desired but not required
