Commercial Portfolio Manager Sr. - Power Project Finance

Description

The REF (Renewable Energy Finance) group originates project finance / non-recourse transactions for solar and wind using construction finance, sale and leaseback, back-levered debt, and partnership tax equity structures.

Experience in project finance credit underwriting is required.

Responsibilities

Assist deal team with transaction structuring and negotiation, optimizing balance of commercial and risk factors

Lead the review and underwriting of renewable energy project financing, including :

oOff-taker credit analysis

oUnderwriting material contracting counterparties

oReview of material project agreements

oReview of sponsor / developer credit

oReview of financial pro-forma and underlying assumptions

oReview of outside consultant reports

Represent transaction in credit committees, support transaction closing approval process

Support REF analysis and decision making on new markets, technologies, and equipment vendors

Monitor HNB REF policies and procedures for all the above, identify and address any gaps based on industry best practice experience

Optimize HNB internal understanding and support for the risk underwriting aspects of renewable energy financing and REF policies

Ensure compliance with policies while maintaining a constant improvement’ mentality and implement improvements to policies as identified

oBachelor’s degree

oMinimum 5 years’ experience in credit underwriting of transactions up to $50MM

Preferred Qualifications

oProject finance underwriting experience (minimum 5 years, 7 years or more preferred)

oExperience in Project Finance, which could include; Solar, Wind, and Energy Projects

oExperience working for financial institution required

oStrong analytical and reporting skills

oStrong organizational and leadership skills

oExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

oAbility to travel as needed
