Attorney/Lawyer

Description Robert Half is immediately seeking an Assistant Corporate Counsel for one of our in-house clients in the LOOP. The ideal candidate would have 1-3 years of experience in a corporate setting, and would be comfortable working a hybrid schedule (three days a week in office, two days a week from home). Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

Drafting, analyzing, editing, and managing domestic and international contracts in and across all subject matter areas including but not limited to: professional services (clients and subcontractors); technology (e.g. software licensing, SaaS), and other collaboration services.

Enhancing the Company’s current policies governing Human Resources, Data Security, Ethics and Compliance, and IT Security.

Crafting and enhancing corporate policies while developing presentations and learning modules for company staff.

Developing policies that keep pace with legal and statutory developments, particularly in areas of data privacy (e.g. CCPA and PIPEDA).

Empowering and counseling Company leadership and stakeholders by analyzing legal risks and balancing said risks with the Company’s business interests.

Continuously staying updated on rapidly evolving federal and state laws affecting the company’s business in the areas of joint employment, outside sales, and the sales and marketing industry.

Assisting Company leadership in providing daily and on-going legal, compliance and business counseling to all staff members in and across all subject matter areas including: general corporate, sales and marketing, regulatory and compliance, operations, finance, credit and accounting, and labor and employment.

Assisting in managing all legal matters in the areas of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and development including participating in all related drafting, due diligence review, document and data room organization, outside counsel management and all other transaction management matters.

Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school and licensed to practice law in Illinois or eligible to obtain a limited in-house counsel license from the state of Illinois.

One or more years’ experience as a practicing attorney in-house at a medium sized entity or as outside counsel to business entities.

A collaborative team-player willing to contribute to team projects and discussions.

Quick study, able to handle complex matters, with multiple simultaneous initiatives that require discretion, confidentiality, and prioritization

The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, excellent business and legal judgment, be a self-starter, have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a professional demeanor.

Excellent organizational skills and a high-level of attention to detail.
