Sr. Data Warehouse Developer (SSIS/ ADF)

Resource 1 is in need of a Sr. Data Warehouse Developer (SSIS/ ADF) for a 3-6-month contract-for-hire position in Chicago, IL. Selected individual will be expected to work onsite in Chicago a few days a week if local. Client is open to fully remote for the right candidate if they are outside Chicago (CST or EST time zone preferred). Candidate will join a team responsible for the development, maintenance and execution of extraction, transformation and load (ETL) routines for importing data from heterogeneous data sources into the data warehouse using MS SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). In addition to SSIS development, will also be using ADF to create data pipelines to move data. Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) in an enterprise environment is preferred, but not required. Individual should have at least 7 years of data warehouse/ SSIS experience. Experience with PowerShell scripting is also required. This is a very large (40 TB of data), complex, HA (Highly Available) environment that includes SQL Server 2019 databases and clustered columnstore indexing (CCI). Must have experience designing, developing, enhancing and troubleshooting SSIS packages. Should also be knowledgeable in designing and implementing database schemas using Kimball/ Inmon methodologies. Strong T-SQL development/ tuning experience is required. May also be asked to help define and implement standards and practices for data warehousing initiatives throughout the company. Selected individual should understand data normalization and denormalization rules, as well as other techniques to support reporting and analytics.
