Senior Project Manager - Building Construction

Description As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for: Work closely with pre-construction team to understand the client objectives Communicate with clients throughout the budgeting and planning process Collaborate with site superintendent(s) to ensure labor coverage for the project Communicate and facilitate and change orders to superintendent and subcontractors Create and manage a strict budget and schedule Manage any conflict between client, subcontractors, and superintendents Mentor Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers Manage close-out and punch list Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related discipline 5+ years of industry experience Ability to come in own projects from start to finish Good team player and ability to manage a team Proficiency in latest technologies Design/build experience a plus Ability to travel 1-2 times per month My client is a well-established GC in the Chicago market who has operated in the industry for over 70 years taking on work ranging from $100k-$20M. Originally established completing carpentry work, my client has close to 60 employees and completes a variety of commercial work. With strong relationships across their private client base, this General Contractor takes on projects in over 20 states and prides themselves on a 'client first' approach. The current President at the company began as a PM and after 20 years of progressing through the executive ranks, he is looking for a Project Manager that can spearhead the backlog of projects they have coming up in 2020 and, after training and demonstrating that they have ability to lead, this Project Manager can move into a VP of Project Management position.
