The Chartis Group has offices in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, New York, Minneapolis, Portland, and San Francisco.Role OverviewIn your role as a Senior Analytics Engineer, you’ll join the Chartis Analytics team, helping develop analytic tools that are used by our clients and across our consulting practices. In this role, you’ll work in both individual and team-based environments, using your skills as a BI developer and data engineer to support visualizations, data pipelines and analytic methodologies. You’ll develop advanced dashboards in PowerBI and Tableau that will be used both within the firm and by our clients to provide insight into the complex challenges that healthcare providers face today. While there are no location requirements, we prefer geographic proximity to either our Chicago or Boston offices.Responsibilities

  • Develop intuitive, interactive dashboards and efficient data models for an oncology-focused analytic tool that is used by both clients and consulting team members
  • Architect and manage the ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines for disparate data sources, making it available for analytic reporting through multiple channels – PowerBI, Tableau Server, and our Snowflake data warehouse
  • Work within a collaborative team to support all phases of an agile software development lifecycle – requirements gathering, development, testing, production operations, documentation.
  • Build new datasets to maximize utility using advanced data management and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Alteryx, Python, Snowflake, etc.)
  • Support team initiatives to improve our processes, delivery, and core analytic skills
  • Help manage our enterprise PowerBI Premium and Tableau Server instances
Qualifications and Desired Skills
  • 4+ years of experience in a BI development/data engineering role
  • Robust expertise with PowerBI Pro/Premium and Tableau Desktop/Server and the ability to independently create meaningful, visually striking dashboards and analytics.
  • A strong understanding of core ELT processes, data modeling, relational database principles and design practices.
  • Strong SQL skills required (Snowflake and/or Microsoft SQL Server preferred)
  • Experience with dbt, Python, and cloud-based architectures – particularly Microsoft Azure and Azure Data Factory – a plus
  • Experience with data management tools such as Alteryx and Tableau Prep is a plus.
  • Experience with version control systems (git) preferred.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data (e.g., claims data, hospital reporting data, or clinical decision support data) and analytics preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a capacity for translating product and business needs into technical specifications
  • Top-notch analytical and problem-solving skills, a passion for efficiency and a desire to learn more
  • Chicago and Boston-based candidates are preferred
