Job Title: Financial Services C Developer

Location: Chicago, IL 60603 (onsite 5 days/week)

Duration: Through April 7th, 2022, with the option to extend and/or hire

Job Responsibilities:We’re looking for an experienced (not necessarily senior) C developer to assist in the maintenance and enhancement of a code base associated a with US equity retail order flow business. The system is primarily responsible for calculating trade fees in a post trade environment. The role will be to work with the business to ensure changes to pricing models and configuration are implemented and tested properly prior to production deployment. Enhancing existing documentation of how the system works will also be necessary.In addition to maintaining the current system, we will be looking for assistance in re-engineering the system to the next generation process/workflow. This could involve integrating with Kafka and various other database technologies for historical data. While not a hard requirement for this role, experience in web-based UI technologies would be helpful for improving the user experience with the system.

Requirements:

5+ years of experience in software development
Experience developing, testing, and deploying C based systems
Experience with general python scripting
Experience with SQL
Experience with Perl, CGI all nice to have
Experience with git versioning control system
Experience with financial services technology, extra credit for back off experience
Must be skilled in troubleshooting and problem resolution
Bonus points for familiarity with FIX, compliance reporting, and/or order management systems
Bonus points for familiarity with web-based GUI technologies
Bonus points for familiarity with Kafka
Architecting, designing, developing and testing object-oriented systems
Strong documentation experience
Solid analysis and design skills, knowledge of design patterns
Strong full lifecycle development background from UI through business, database and testing
Financial services experience required, ideally in high-speed trading or market making.
Business application development in trading environments, ideally real-time systems
The ability to work hand in hand with business users and stakeholders
Excellent communication skills

Non-Technical Skills:

Enjoys working in a small team environment, freely sharing ideas and providing a sounding board for other members of the team.
Has a desire and tendency to understand how tools / systems fit within an overall business and technical process.
Must be able to communicate with technical and non-technical members across teams to develop and deliver sound products.
