Full Time Product Owner/Scrum Master Opportunity

Role: Scrum Master

Rate: $135,000-$145,000 plus benefits

Effective Date: July 7th, 2021

Experience Level: Senior (7+ years)

Desired Work Location: Chicago, IL (Northwest Suburbs Preferred)

Anticipated Hours per Week: 40 hrs

Certification Required: Scrum Master Certification

Description:Blue Star Partners is looking for a Scrum Master to lead the development of custom software for a company in the software development industry. The person in this role will ensure the project is developing in accordance with the client's expectations and that the agile methodology is being followed.

Key Responsibilities:

Guide the team and organization on how to use Scrum & agile practices and frameworks
Oversee Scrum process, coach the team, and facilitate transparent & adaptive team culture
Lead Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint and Release Planning meetings in a way that ensures full team engagement
Facilitate communication and collaboration inside and outside the team
Helping the product owner and development team to achieve customer satisfaction
Product Owners are new to role; will need to supplement their tasks as they come to speed. This will include:

Guide, drive and execute holistic product strategy for assigned product(s)
Drive priorities, definition of success and Key Performance Indicators, connecting with the business constantly throughout the product life cycle
Act as first line of contact for Business Lines, supporting the strategic tone for product with other involved Business Lines, guiding a roadmap and future state vision
Help identify requirements
Develop and lead new initiatives or innovations, providing strategic guidance on improvements

Qualifications and Skills:

7+ years of work as a Scrum Master leading custom software development projects
Must have excellent leadership skills (proven ability to coach, develop, and lead a team) and must be able to work with a diverse project team consisting of resources from all parts of the organization (both IT & Business)
Proven ability to engage and develop relationships with executive sponsors and key stakeholders with clarity and precision
Excellent communication skills
Familiarity with Java
Familiarity with Angular
Familiarity with Microservices
Proven ability to solve complex problems and think innovatively
Familiarity with software development and the SDLC lifecycle
Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement)
Knowledge of other Agile frameworks (Crystal, XP etc.)
