GISTEK is a growing hospitality integration company currently seeking Cable Technicians. This position requires working supervised and unsupervised to install and test low voltage cable plant components and wireless devices.

Pay rate will depend on your skill and experience to include pulling cat6, termination of RJ45, (B Method,) Punch-down, use of light power tools, ability to follow multiple instructions and work alone or on a team.

It is preferred that you have your own tools, including Cat6 crimpers, driver, drywall tool, but if you have the skill but lack the tools, we may provide such.

The job also entails light drywall work to install cable, training and direction will be provided.

You must be able to carry a 6-8’ ladder and be ladder safe with the ability to carry a 40 pound box of cable up stairs.

Tech must be presentable as we work in hotels with guests, speak, read and write English as documentation of tasks will be required, have an iPhone or Droid to record tasks, record time on T-Sheets and be accessible to your supervisor(s.)

This is a temp to perm position, hiring immediately in the Clarkston and Cheney areas. The initial jobs will be in Clarkston for at least 2-3 weeks and then moving to Cheney and back. We may be able to provide transportation between cities if needed and may provide a hotel room in Cheney or Clarkston if not specifically local to that area once hired.

The job entails working in hotels initially in these areas, but could expand to Washington and other areas depending on your skills and ability to travel. We install and upgrade WiFi, Telco, Video Surveillance and DAS Systems primarily in the western US for IHG, Marrot and Hilton properties.

Other useful skills not required on this job are networking skills, communication, sales and management skills. Depending on your history and skill set, this job could be enlarged to cover the Washington and Oregon areas, with the possibility of growth to the Western States areas on other projects we have pending.

Candidates must be self-motivated and possess a strong work ethic while being dependable and reliable, and exhibit a calm, professional demeanor. Candidates must also have strong organization skills and be able to work under pressure and deadlines.

The physical environment in which one works will be primarily inside with occasional outdoor work, depending on the structure of the hotel. Work involves pulling cable, bending, crawling and maneuvering in tight spaces on a regular basis. Work also frequently involves lifting and carrying 40-60 lbs. on a regular basis. Work is performed at client hotel locations (therefore a valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required), if you are to travel between sites. We will also provide mileage reimbursement for travel beyond 30 miles.
