No 3 rd parties or C-C offers pleaseA Sustainability Competitive Claims and Analysis job in Boise, Idaho is available courtesy of Modis The Large Format Print Marketing team is looking for an energetic and motivated Marketing Associate to work side-by-side with our North America Country/Segment Marketing Managers. The Marketing Associate will be required to apply professional and theoretical knowledge to help the team to get things done.RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage key activities in support of Sustainability Competitive Claims and Analysis, in partnership with the CO Print Competitive Insights (CI) organization.
Collaboration is essential on the CI Team. We work together, share openly, discuss intelligently, consider multiple angles, and provide our assessments to Senior Management, while delivering Key Stories to Sales. Competitive Intelligence research must always be performed in alignment with Standards of Business Conduct.
Sustainability Competitive Claims
Define and develop Sustainability Competitive Claims. These claims may be for new product introductions or they may be re-validation of existing claims. Examples: "World's Most Sustainable".
Coordinate with key partners to define and develop each claim.
Perform necessary research to prove each claim. This includes defining the competitive set, running data analysis (example: specs, market share), and coordinating internal product testing or desktop research with CO Print CI.
Manage claims process with third-party agency for research, testing, and claim report development.
Draft compelling claims and footnotes. Obtain Legal approval.
Hand-off communication of each claim to WW Print Marketing so they can inform their various stakeholders and use the claim in marketing materials (i.e. packaging, website, etc)
Sustainability Competitive Analysis:
Own in-depth knowledge of several Print Competitors. Example: Fuji-Xerox, Canon, Konica, Brother, Epson. For your competitors, you will be responsible to:
Track and Report your Competitors' Sustainability Features in Current Hardware Portfolio (at least 2x/year)
Support Research Inquiries about your Competitors coming from PHS GBU and CO Category teams
Support Big Deal Inquiries about your Competitors coming from Sales, in partnership with CO Print CI
Consult a wide variety of sources to ensure fairness and accuracy in your research output: this may include Strategy communications from OEMs, opinions from Industry Analysts, multiple spec data sources, early detection data from Country Regulatory Agencies (eg Energy Star), and more.
Stay curious and flexible about learning and doing new things in response to evolving business needs. When your time availability allows, support research or projects not yet known, in partnership with CO Print CI.
QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a university degree similar to a bachelor's degree in the USA (preferably in a technical, engineering, or business field), with an MBA or Master of Engineering preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in the Print Industry.
Highly collaborative work style required, with ability to collaborate globally. Willing to work across time zones.
Strong in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
Is a self-starter, who understands what needs to be done (or has the courage to ask) and will take the initiative to move forward with moderate supervision
Able to work with a degree of ambiguity / uncertainty
Ability to balance and prioritize (with guidance) multiple requests and analyses
Knowledge of Office Print Industry (key metrics and drivers) and how it operates
Ability to interface with all levels in Marketing and R&D
Excellent written and spoken English communication skills; able to present to management and train internal teams
