If this sounds like a good fit to you, we are seeking applicants for a part-time (26 hours/week), temporary Technical Records Specialist 2 position with the Child Welfare Service Desk. This position is located at our central office in downtown Boise and is eligible for State of Idaho benefits. Temporary positions are limited to working 1,385 hours in a 12-month period for any one state agency.We are seeking candidates who excel in a fast-paced team environment and can balance a workload while coordinating multiple priorities. Documents and tracks issues using incident management software and follows up with customers to ensure proper resolution.

Demonstrates strong telephone contact handling and active listening skills.

Negotiates and problem solves with authority to act on decisions made in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Serves as a program expert and provides guidance and assistance regarding complex program rules and regulations to internal and external customers.

Provides customer service to internal and external customers which requires good public relation skills.

Functions with considerable independence and exercises discretion in applying policies and procedures.

Possesses extensive knowledge of department programs and objectives.

Experience storing, retrieving, and compiling information in a report format using database software. Gained by one year of work experience successfully performing these activities.

Experience using spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel to create and modify electronic worksheets and design and print graphs; including complex data analysis using tools such as Pivot tables. Gained by one year of work experience successfully performing these activities.

Experience performing data management activities such as database development, data collection, analysis, research and tracking, developing tables, queries, forms, and reports. Gained by completion of a college-level course equivalent to three semester hours OR through successful completion of a three-day course (approximately 20 hours) specific to data management OR through three months of work experience successfully performing data management activities.
