Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a forward-thinking Mid-Level System Administrator to join the Maui Space Surveillance System (MSSS) team. The position will be based out of Kihei, HI, and will be required to work in office and lab environments to provide desktop and server support.In this very unique and exciting role, you will support proprietary Statement-of-Work (SOW) in classified areas. You will be required to support installation, set-up and operational support with varying operating systems and hardware interfaces. You must have a good understanding of IT concepts and the ability to think independently and create solutions with non-standard equipment. Duties will include working within and supporting proprietary areas. Position Responsibilities:- Develops and implements technical solutions for Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements in controlled environments
- Works with Information Assurance (Information Systems Security Manager and Cyber Security team) to resolve RMF compliance issues
- Analyzes domain for improvements, develops investment decisions, and designs and performs product verification & validation
- Works closely with various Program team members at all levels to clarify and refine complex requirements, and interprets and translates complex requirements into functional specifications within IT Statement of Direction and Market-Based Affordability goals
- Is self-motivated, utilizes good communication and analytical abilities, performs systems analysis, and has a project management background
- Leads technical teams and projects
- Utilizes excellent customer relationship management (CRM) skills
- Works with teams and as an individual contributor
- Utilizes flexibility and creativity in providing innovative technology solutions to keep systems in compliance
- Balances multiple activities while working within a cross-function team
- This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
- An active CompTIA Security+ or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds in support of hardware installations
- Ability to travel 20% of the time for installation support
- Ability to support occasional after hour maintenance providing pager (on-call) support
- Technical Bachelor's degree or higher
- 6 years of experience directly related to System Administration, including installation and maintenance of software and hardware
- Project Management Certification
- Experience administering Windows based systems
- Experience administering Red Hat Linux based systems with minimal support, to include Linux sub-systems, patching, packaging (RPM), performance tuning, networking, user management, and security
- Strong hardware/software troubleshooting skills and able to troubleshoot problems with efficiency
- Experience with scripting, particularly in shell scripting in sh and csh variants, Bash, Python, and PERL
- Experience with planning, deployment, installation and upgrades of products within required timelines and resource allocations over multiple geographic sites
- NAS and SAN administration experienced
- Experience with recent versions of VMware (ESXi and vCenter)
- Previous experience using version control tools such as ClearCase or CMPro
- Proven ability to quickly break complex IT problems into solvable components
- Experience with Red Hat 5.9 or above
- Experience with Windows Server 2008 or above
- Proficiency with Enterprise level administration of common services such as DNS, Sendmail, and LDAP
- Linux and Windows integration tools (Centrify, Samba, etc.) experience
- Installation and management of fiber channel switches experience
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a cross-functional team
- Ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and vendors
- Strong analytic and research skills and be detail oriented
- Communication and diplomatic skills
