Boat Captain - On Call - Pick Up Extra Shifts - Up To $150 Per Trip

Looking for additional shifts as a snorkel boat Captain in Kona? Join the “on-call team” at Hawaii Oceanic and Coral Reef Snorkel Adventures, two of the most reputable snorkel boat companies in Kona. Coral Reef Adventures is a 6-pack, and Hawaii Oceanic carries 12 passengers, so both boats offer a small-group experience that’s more private than the larger “cattle boats” in Kona.

This role is ideal for Captains that currently work in Kona, and are interested in being called to fill in for Captain shifts on days when they are not already working. As an example, if you currently work Monday through Friday for another company, you can sign up to be on call with us for Saturday and Sunday. If we need a captain to fill in on a Saturday or Sunday, we will call you, and you will have the option to accept or reject the shift. There is no obligation to take the shift for the days when you are on call.

In addition to increasing your income by picking up additional shifts, you will also have an opportunity to grow into a steady role with our team. Our Captains work with our Crew to manage the entire trip, from preparing the boat to washing it down after the trip. Captains are primarily responsible for operating the boat and ensuring the safety of our guests, where Crew members assist our guests with everything from check-in to snorkel gear adjustments.

Compensation: get paid up to $150 per trip, based on experience

- 5+ years experience: $150 per trip

- 3-4 years experience: $130 per trip

- Less than 2-years experience: $120 per trip

Additional Information:

Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug tests. Experience on other snorkel tour boats on the Big Island is strongly preferred, but not a requirement. We are willing to train the right candidates.
