Research Corporation of the University of Hawai‘i. (3) Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Human Resources Department, Research Corporation of the University of Hawai‘i (RCUH) core staff located in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. Responsible for providing administrative support in various human resources management/Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) assignments such as (but not limited to), employment, employee benefits administration, HRIS (including data entry), payroll, workers’ compensation, employee relations, job descriptions, compensation, recruitment, and affirmative action program.

Completes specific assigned project-based tasks.

Assists Principal Investigators and project staff with RCUH Human Resources policies and procedures.

Performs ongoing general/administrative assignments relating to functional human resources areas. PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university.

(Associate’s Degree from an accredited community college and at least two (2) years of experience performing similar administrative work may substitute for a Bachelor’s Degree.). EXPERIENCE:

Up to one (0-1) year of experience performing general/administrative assignments.

Experience working in a large corporation whose focus is in customer service/support of a broad range of clientele is highly preferred. ABIL/KNOW/SKILLS:

Knowledge of office administration, work processes/flows, clerical work, use of business applications, and office equipment.

Knowledge of professional business communications (verbal and written) and customer service.

Must have problem solving skills, judgment, and possess attention to detail skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-volume work environment while assisting supervisors, administrators and employees via frequent phone calls and emails, daily.

Ability to work and complete assignments efficiently, accurately, and independently.

Ability to follow directions and complete work processes with thoroughness and accuracy.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient in keyboarding (i.e., acceptable speed and accuracy).

Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel applications, email, Internet, and general abilities to use data base software.

Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check for working with highly confidential and sensitive information which includes being fingerprinted and having a federal background check performed. SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.

Prior experience working in human resources or performing duties similar to the RCUH Human Resources processes.

Experience with a computerized Human Resources system (i.e., PeopleSoft). Knowledge of labor laws, UH and RCUH policies and procedures.
