Position Summary:The Dressmaking and Design Adjunct instructor is responsible for providing instructional support through constructive, focused feedback to ensure students meet the established learning objectives. The primary function of the Dressmaking and Design Adjunct is to evaluate and grade subjective assignments, and projects to assist students in achieving their educational goals through distance education technologies. The Dressmaking and Design Adjunct will provide one-on-one instructional support to include responses to student’s inbound academic inquiries using distance education technologies, email. The instructor will support the creation of student resources including but not limited to webinars, videos, and learning resource materials. Essential Job Functions: Objectively and accurately evaluate projects against established grading keys and rubrics

Complete the necessary steps to ensure that grades are properly recorded with the school

Grade projects within five days of submission

Correspond with students as may be required by the exam evaluation

May be asked to develop grading rubrics as directed by the instructional staff

Participate in special grading projects which may be required by the instructional staff

Participate in accreditation as needed

Participate in all policies required by Penn Foster including but not limited to Professional Development (12 hours per calendar year)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Dressmaking and Design fields

Previous teaching experience preferred. Online teaching a plus

Reliable internet and a personal computer/laptop operating on a Windows or a MAC operating system

Excellent computer skills
