Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides first level repairs to all Goodwill facilities and performs all maintenance procedures required on equipment and machinery. Assists in repairs done by outside contractors.DESIRED SKILLS:Be an instructor in the subject of “work” to all who come to Goodwill for training or job placement assistance. In that, work ethic is more “caught than taught”, you will teach others by your own work ethic and passion for quality.
Must have strong working knowledge of:- Building construction: masonry (brick, Stone, Block, concrete and stucco) and metal structure. Able to make necessary repairs in a timely manner or if the job requires a professional service report to your manager for further evaluation.
- Electrical: lighting: bulb changes, ballast changes, LED lighting conversion, able to troubleshoot light switches and circuitry.
- Mechanical: Kitchen equipment - Self-contained upright 2 and 3 door coolers and freezer, numerous under counter coolers and freezers, several open face merchandisers. Walk-in coolers and freezer.
- HVAC: Heat pumps; Gas heat with air; Gas packs and air exchanger. Ability to PM the equipment, change filter in the designated time and troubleshoot any small issue with the equipment that was found during the PM or may arise. Anything above the normal should be reported to the maintenance manager.
- Plumbing: General plumbing issues such as clogs, leaks, fixture repairs and/or replacement. New construction installs are not required but a plus.
- Power tools: Correct operation and required safety precautions (correct PPE used), Keep tools in good shape and operationally safe.
- Vehicle: Keep assigned vehicle serviced and needed repairs completed. All services and repairs are to be brought to the Maintenance Manager before action is taken.
- Able to work and complete task in a timely manner, work with store management and respecting the opinions of others.
- Good working knowledge of power tools and safety related methods.
- Must function with minimal supervision, but able to take direction when needed.
- Anything above the normal should be reported to the Maintenance Manager for further evaluation.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in all Goodwill facilities and sometimes exposed to weather elementsPHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be physically fit and able to climb ladders, scaffolds and platforms. Required to work on different types of equipment levels and able to lift 75 pounds of weight. Position requires frequent bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Must have the manual dexterity to perform required duties.Additional Information
