Primerica currently has the following hybrid position available at our corporate office in Duluth, Georgia:The Enterprise Shared Services API team is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and skilled Lead API Application Developer. The Developer will join a team of passionate Developers and Architects to design, develop, test, and integrate highly complex solutions that deliver value to our customers through quality solutions and problem solving.This is a hybrid position in Duluth, Georgia. This position is currently remote until end of January.

Duties:Design and develop high-quality API centric software solutions.
  • Utilize microservices design patterns that meet requirements, promotes re-use, and facilitates ease of support.
  • Works independently, with their team and with the Enterprise Architecture team, to design APIs that are compliant with Primerica's practice and standards.
  • Engage in Agile project activities including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
Analyze business requirements and existing systems to construct detailed technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with Architecture and Product Leads to drive product and technology roadmaps.
  • Produce and maintain system documentation and release notes.
  • Analyze technical requirements to design new components and applications.
Conduct unit tests, track problems, and implement changes to ensure adherence to test plans and functional requirements.
  • Establish a culture of software craftsmanship best practices, including test driven development, API performance testing, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.
  • Conduct unit and integration tests to ensure requirements are met.
Monitor builds, deployments, and system health
  • Troubleshoot deployment issues in conjunction with DevOps and test team members.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience with Rancher, Docker containers and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with messaging products: IBM MQ, Kafka or Apache MQ
  • Working knowledge of API security best practices

Education, Experience and Certifications
  • College degree in Information Technology or equivalent job experience.
  • 5 years of secure client facing Application development experience
  • 4 years of experience developing RESTful web services using Springboot framework and related stack or NodeJS/NestJS /Express JS frameworks
  • 3 years of experience with SQL or NoSQL DBMSs like MongoDB
  • 5 years of experience in roles that required strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills
  • 3 years of demonstrated analytical, problem-solving skills and technical leadership skills developing quality API solutions.
  • 2 years of experience with Agile and Extreme Programming (XP) software development practices like TDD
