Job Description

Senior Program Manager-Corporate GovernanceFulltimeTarget Salary -$150,000-$190,000.

The Senior Program Manager, Tech Governance, is responsible for overseeing various large transformational initiatives within Technology and helping drive collaboration across various Tech delivery teams to produce a holistic plan tracking overall timeline, release plan, health, progress, status, dependency and risk mitigation to senior leadership.

The Senior Program Manager will help facilitate overall program governance, change management and consistency in delivery execution across the various Tech teams. This includes working across multiple Program Managers and Project Managers responsible for each of their delivery tracks and providing overall visibility to manage program risks/issues, monitor financials, schedule and delivery performance of the individual projects which working to ensure necessary business and IT outcomes are met across initiatives within budget and timelines.

This position will be responsible for executive level program-related communication, tailoring the level of information to the audience and requires strong cross-team & cross-functional coordination and even stronger communication skills working with senior management, technology leadership peers, key business partners, technical staff, and external partners. Someone with great interpersonal skills, who also enjoys dealing with tight schedules and be willing to take on additional engineering and leadership duties as assigned
    Planning: Produce overall roadmap and plan to deliver various work products and capabilities over time across multiple program teams highlighting dependencies and key milestones to track overall progress and health of the transformational initiatives
      Execution: Partnering and collaborating with Program/Project managers across the various delivery tracks to oversee their execution, status and progress to continuously assess overall health and delivery of the capabilities over time aligning to the plan
        Program Communication: Develop program communication plans and demonstrate effective communication to the executive management team, project team(s), and stakeholders to keep them well informed on a timely basis around financials, delivery progress, health status, issues/risks, roadblocks, and mitigation plans keeping into account the program constraints and objectives in order to enable continued program progress
          Governance: Provide leadership around processes throughout the life cycle of the initiatives and review program/project KPIs/metrics to facilitate scorecard development to ensure enterprise-wide consistency and overall program success
            Manage Change in Scope: Keep track of overall change in scope and alignment with senior management for approvals and impacts to overall cost/schedule

            Qualifications:

            Education/Experience:
              Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. PMP certified preferred.
                5-7 years of Program Management (very large initiatives with multiple Project Managers)
                  Experience in software development required. Retail/omni-channel background is a plus.
                    Extensive experience managing multiple complex simultaneous projects involving cross-functional project teams within budgetary and schedule constraints.
                      Extensive understanding of Agile Project Management principles, methods and techniques.
                        Outstanding analytical skills with attention to detail.
                          Exceptional problem-solving skills; able to anticipate technical and project barriers and adjust approach based on research and experience.
                            Outstanding documentation, organization and time management skills.
                              Ability to build consensus within technology and the business community and to work through others in achieving desired results and objectives.
                                Flexibility in response to change.
                                  The aptitude to quickly gain a working knowledge of Macy's business capabilities and technologies.
                                    Ability to concurrently manage multiple project types.
                                      Sound team building and interpersonal skills required to effectively manage a multi-skilled project throughout the deliverable process.
                                        General knowledge of several major and related systems and how they are integrated.

                                                  Mathematical Skills:
                                                    Must have above average mathematical skills, including the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
