Primerica currently has the following opening at our corporate office in Duluth, Georgia:Primerica is looking for a Business Analyst Center of Excellence Manager who will lead the BA Center of Excellence (BA CoE) in a fast-paced software development environment. As a Center of Excellence Manager, you will be expected to drive the continuing growth and development of the Center of Excellence towards business analysis best practices, industry best practices, and overall maturity. You should be comfortable understanding current and future trends and be able to mentor business analysts and improve the team towards creating a true Center of Excellence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Ability to plan and develop budgets and verify that they’re followed by the Center of Excellence
  • Ability to develop business case, ROI, and participate in long term firm benefits analysis
  • Able to coach or mentor staff on modern BA principles
  • Ability to hire and train new business analysts in waterfall and agile methodologies
  • Ability to create training materials for all Business Analyst employees to follow
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvements and drive change
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Accountable for the team’s day-to-day functions and responsible for managing the BA team
  • Accountable for continuing to stand up the BA Center of Excellence during the next 12 months
  • Primary evangelist for pushing business analyst best practices throughout the organization
  • Protects the Company’s authority to conduct business by complying with applicable legal and ethical standards and ensuring those standards are incorporated, where applicable, in supported digital product features

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ yrs. of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Manager, Business Architect or similar role
  • 5-7 years of experience managing a team of people and engagement staffing
  • Experience working in software development environment and developing underlying processes
  • CBAP, PMP, or similar certification preferred

Skills:
  • Effective at building cross-functional relationships based on trust and respect
  • Strong team leadership and development skills
  • Effective involvement in strategy and governance activities for the betterment of the organization
  • Ability to analyze data to find ways to increase productivity and, by extension, company profits
  • Accountable for designing the methods IT Business Analysts use to develop business requirements on any given project
  • Core competencies in managing a BA team and ensuring the CoE’s overall success
  • The ability to use independent judgment in identifying the root cause of problems, and developing solutions to a variety of problems of moderate to large scope and complexity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills to accurately and succinctly document and report to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide team members, managers, customers, and other external parties

Knowledge:
  • Waterfall, Agile, and Lean software development methodologies
  • Knowledge of current trends and innovations in technology and computer software applications
  • Understanding of various logic diagrams and requirements documentation methods and formats
  • Understanding of client/server and Web-based technologies,
  • Specific knowledge of business analysis methodologies and tools
  • Familiarity with business process improvement methodologies
  • Business Architecture principles and methodologies

Software Experience:
  • Moderate to Advanced user of the Microsoft Office suite of products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
  • MS Project Experience (Nice to Have)
  • Jira, VersionOne or similar agile lifecycle management tool
  • Quality Management and SQL experience preferred
  • Previous experience in IT Business Analysis or IT Business Consulting
  • PEGA and Mulesoft experience (Nice to Have)
  • On Prem Mainframe and Cloud-based development Knowledge (Nice to Have)
