Job Summary:
  • Responsible for analysis, design, programming, and implementation of complex applications tasks and projects.
  • Devise feasible, logical procedures to resolve business problems through the use of computer resources. Formulate scope and objectives through research to develop or modify complex systems.
  • Review detailed specifications and recommend modifications.
  • Design, code, test and debug complex application programs.
  • This position will write, maintain and support windows forms and web document management related applications.
  • The primary toolset is C#.Net and MS SQL Server.
  • An ability to express and discuss issues and potential solutions with the team is critical as the team is moving towards and agile Kanban process.
  • The team is DevOps and as such the successful candidate must be able to deal with frequently changing priorities and working closely with others.
  • As the team supports several poorly documents older applications, some level of independent research may be necessary, but it is equally important to seek help when needed.

Additional Job Description:
  • Writing, maintaining and supporting windows forms and web applications that connect to a MS SQL Server Database while working as a team member and switching context when the team needs to swarm around an impediment or escalation. There may be a need to write or modify inline SQL or Stored Procedures. Attend and actively participate in the daily meeting.
  • The team is moving towards Kanban, so team interaction is critical. There will be daily interaction with management and occasional interaction with senior management and customers in our matrixed organization.
  • This position will require the ability to mentor and assist less experience team members.

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or other job-related field, OR
  • Two years of job-related experience, plus an associate degree in computer science, information technology or other job-related field, OR
  • Six years of job-related work experience.

Required Work Experience:
  • Six years of application development, systems testing or other job-related experience.
  • Recent C#.Net development experience (Last 2-3 years minimum)
  • Proficient with SQL, experience with Windows Forms applications.
  • Some experience with ASP web development would be nice to have.

  • Comprehensive understanding of applications/development, quality assurance and integration methodologies, concepts and facilities in a mainframe, midrange, and/or PC/LAN environment.

Team Size
  • Currently 14 members plan to expand up to 17.

Work Schedule:
  • Standard M-F some OT required on occasion with Quarterly weekend deployments ,

  • Partial Remote / Partial On-Site: Onboards and Start remote.
  • Required to be on-site once company COVID-19 W@H is lifted (relo if needed).
  • At that time the preferred work location will be Augusta/KA, but HM willing to also engage someone who is in Columbia/GPC location.

Job Description:
  • 20% Produce deliverables related to the assigned project. Perform analysis, design, programming, and implementation of systems and procedures to solve complex business or scientific problems. Evaluate interrelationships in immediate programming area to determine how changes in one program will affect another related area. Apply conversions and enhancements to business systems. May lead or provide expertise on assigned projects.
  • 20% Work closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. Ensure solutions are aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organizations architectural standards. Assist in post-implementation support and system enhancements.
  • 20% Develop design and functional specifications. Make recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code. Responsibilities may also include participation in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation and buy versus build recommendations.
  • 15% Design and develop IT systems. Devise new sources of data and develop new approaches and techniques. Involved in the full systems life cycle and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting complex application software that is delivered on time and within budget.
  • 15% Provide guidance to lower level programmers/analysts. Act as an internal consultant by providing technical guidance on complex projects. Determine and resolve problems with other systems analysts, programmers, and systems users.
  • 10% Test designed programs, verify logic, perform any necessary "debugging," and write the documentation.

Requirement:
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree PLUS 2 years work-related experience: 8 Years OR 4 added years of work-related Network experience: 10 Years
  • Technical exp with application development systems testing, analysis, design, and/or programming: 6 Years
  • Recent C#.Net development experience (within last 2-3 years minimum)
  • Proficient with SQL, experience with Windows Forms applications
  • Some experience with ASP web development would be nice to have
  • Weekend On-Call rotation required quarterly
  • Communications Skills is vital - MUST have ability to communicate
  • Ability to mentor teammates who are at the lower level
