Platform Security Engineer Contract-to-Hire Job Description What we are looking for A highly analytical individual that's interested in working with bleeding edge technologies and infrastructure. An individual with a background in computer science or equivalent experience. The right candidate should have proficiency in dealing with supporting structures for current web technologies (React, Python, etc.), a knowledge of test-driven development and agile workflows, have experience with virtualization platforms, continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) mechanisms, and SQL/PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes on AWS. Security concerns around each of these items is the focus. Responsibilities

Create new kubernetes clusters and services (specifically AWS EKS). Gitlab repository control compliance (setting protected branches, approval rules, etc. across repos) Data anonymization between environment databases Distributing scanning client software across cluster instances Adjusting network and routing Adjusting security groups Verusen user IAM role consolidation and granularity (eg. instead of access to all of RDS, specific resources parts for specific roles) Verusen infrastructure IAM role consolidation and granularity (not as much of a concern as this is fairly well defined) Develop system access control roles and permissions (Snowflake, AWS, postgres-RDS) Data science environment creation (they must work with production data not in production) Isolated environment creation (environment where select organizational data will be used for organization specific support issues) Offboarding automation (checking against set services for user and removing) Pentest remediations Ensure adequate redundancy and segregation measures are in place based on customer needs. Create CI/CD scripts for testing and deployment. Add security monitoring and alerting to infrastructure. Update and maintain instance/container security measures. Identify, incorporate, and communicate best practices. Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience supporting infrastructure and security for web apps
  • Very strong attention to detail, focus and organization
  • Exceptional logic and reasoning abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of high-level application design
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively within development teams
  • Ability to read and understand logging from various sources
  • Understanding of source control mechanisms (git)
  • Familiarity with rapid software release cycles/SDLC
  • Deadline and detail-oriented - bias to ship
  • Experience working with cloud-native platforms (AWS)
  • Experience with React/Python applications
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tooling (terraform, gitlab-ci, flux)
  • Experience with tenets of application/infrastructure security
  • Experience working within a containerized environment (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS)
  • Database experience with PostgreSQL as well as basic query authoring.
  • Kafka experience
  • Knowledge of SOC 2 Trust Service Criteria
