DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

May draft, design and develop training and learning resources in CDC’s workforce development and fellowship programs by reviewing training documentation and participating in planning sessions with experienced subject matter experts and CDC learning design and fellowship education contractors and staff.

Provide consultation and technical assistance for multiple programs using adult education principles to include sending evaluation feedback, recommendations, and notes to staff and subject matter experts to improve training materials or processes. There may be a series of live meetings to follow up to work on these improvements. May also assist with training content based on resource such as the Quality Training Standards | Training Development | CDC and Health Equity Guiding Principles for Inclusive Communication | Gateway to Health Communication | CDC.

Communicate with CDC training developers, CDC subject matter experts, and other key stakeholders through a series of emails, calls, virtual or in-person meetings, to design CDC’s educational activities (e.g., classroom-based courses, e-learning, conferences, journal articles) in accordance with the requirements of the programs and following CDC’s processes.

Support the learning design and fellowship education staff through the training planning and implementation process.

Provide written and verbal input to subject matter experts and CDC contractors and staff regarding recommended changes.

Work with CDC training developers to ensure educational activities incorporate best practices in adult learning and adhere to CDC’s established quality training standards

Work with CDC training developers to ensure that a training needs assessment supports the identified practice gap for the education and training needs of target audience and that educational activities are designed for the training needs of the target audience.

Work with CDC training developers to ensure educational activities include SMART learning objectives (e.g., using Bloom’s Taxonomy to assist in developing action verbs at the right level for the target audiences).

Work with CDC training developers to ensure that educational activities are aligned with established competencies (e.g., using the Council on Linkages Competencies for Public Health or other existing competency sets as a framework).

Work with CDC training developers to evaluate programmatic activities to ensure effectiveness in the development, management, and implementation of the education to meet each activity’s defined outcomes.

Shall provide written and verbal feedback to CE developers regarding recommendations for program improvements.

Maintain all files and records which may include documents such as meeting notes, drafts of training materials, and training evaluation survey reports according to Federal records retention guidelines, as well as guidelines required by the accrediting organizations.

Input data which may include participation lists and training evaluation data from training Survey Monkey into data tracking systems and Excel spreadsheets, generate reports related to training activities, and provide reports to ETSB leadership and other CDC stakeholders as requested.

Work with fellowship educators to gather and review background documents on domains, competencies, Core Activities of Learning, Performance Requirements, and didactic training sessions across fellowship programs for cross-cutting topic areas.

Gather and review information from all the above-listed types of documents.

Summarize the information in an existing cross-walk template.

Provide the final document for each topic area to the Learning Design and Fellowship Education Team lead for review and feedback, and editing document as needed.

Attend learning design and fellowship education meetings and meetings that support gathering of information and prioritization for cross-cutting educational topics.

Assist the Learning Design and Fellowship Education Team lead with facilitating prioritization meetings with educators and key stakeholders.

Update the cross-walk documents as needed.

Organize and maintain project files.

DESIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in relevant area, and 7 or more years of experience.
