They are actively recruiting for a Senior Database Engineer Architect to join their growing team. They are looking for somebody that has the ability to bring people together to work collaboratively, define objectives, and influence leadership to get the best outcome focusing on the following areas:

Role Responsibilities
  • Support & Maintain existing Azure Cloud Data Pipeline.
  • Build high-performance, massively scalable, always-available Cloud-based systems.
  • Ensure data integrity and quality in database systems.
  • Maintain standard policies for database development activities.
  • Provide database solutions based on technical documents and business requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance to resolve all database issues related to performance, capacity, and access.
  • Analyze issues holistically, from the application tier through the database, down to the storage.
  • Database Engineers will ensure that all deadlines are met and that quality is of the highest level throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Architect, develop and implement complex solutions for critical applications supporting business products and functions.
  • Participate hands-on in Scrum teams to implement features and solutions.
  • Participate in the Scrum process and Agile culture in the company

Job Details

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline required.
  • 5+ years of deep database engineering experience
  • 3+ years in ETL (data pipeline) engineering experience
  • Ability to analyze technical requirements and design new architectures, data models and ETL strategies
  • Expertise database design, complex T-SQL programming, performance tuning and index analysis
  • Experience working with APIs (REST, GraphQL, etc.) and .NET or Java.
  • Continuous Integration/Deployment - DevOps mindset.
  • Strong knowledge of automation, scripting, job scheduling, capacity management, index maintenance, and running SQL in a virtualized environment.
  • Strong written and oral proactive communication/collaboration skills required.
  • Prior experience in successfully building and implementing a large data base and business intelligence solutions required.
  • Prior hands-on experience of dimensional modelling required.
  • Experience with Azure and MS Power BI with data administration, architecture, design, analytics and deployment is strongly preferred.
  • Working Knowledge of design, build and supports data base, data analytics, application integration and meeting customer expectations.
  • Hands-on experience in Query Tuning, Performance Tuning, and building aggregations for large scale DW solutions.
  • Strong MS-SQL Server 2012 / 2014 experience with hands-on database development, testing, performance tuning.
  • Proficient with the concepts, principles and practices of software applications, data bases, BI, data warehouse platform.
  • Working Knowledge and understanding of scripting and programming languages.
  • Exposes data to end-users using Azure API Apps or any other modern visualization platform or experience.
  • Serves as project manager to plan and lead changes and process improvement by managing. expectations, overseeing deployment, tracking status and communications with key stakeholders.
  • Proactively monitors database environments (backups, recovery, capacity planning, job scheduling, etc.), with performance tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledgeable about technical concepts, principle and apply project management methodologies to support the business expectations.
  • Experience in product development and/or consulting delivery engagements a plus.
  • Provides support for planning and performing database migrations, upgrades and updates.
  • Documents business requirements and technical architecture/design.
  • Works as an effective team member and self-motivated individual contributors
  • Proven ability to deliver high quality work on time and with minimal supervisions
  • Assists in performance tuning and diagnosing issues as they arise.
  • Assists in the definition and implementation of database standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.
  • Exercises sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands when to route inquiries to next level.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames. Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes.
  • Team player that develops strong collaborative working relationships with internal partners and can effectively engage and ability to build consensus among cross-functional teams.
