Staff Accountant

This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Atlanta, Georgia area, at a company where effort is rewarded. Preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and being responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close will be essential for this role. The ideal candidate for this role will be comfortable participating in compliance, interacting with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. This is a position you will thrive in, if you have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.What you get to do every dayPeriodically maintain and reconcile journal entries

Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers

In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable

Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives

Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested

Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision

Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting

Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks Requirements - Be detailed, flexible, and organized

experienced organizational, written and verbal communication skills

Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

Efficient in ERP systems

Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

Microsoft Excel experience

Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
