  • Under broad supervision, manages projects through full life cycle from project definition through implementation of project deliverables. Creates collaborative partnership with all internal and external team members to accomplish the deliverables.
  • The Information Technology (IT) Project Manager Principal at Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) Enterprise Systems Department (ESD) articulates the department's projects execution strategies and objectives while assessing how such projects will impact GTRI business operations.
  • The Manager will be responsible for defining and overseeing a list of dependent projects needed to reach the department overall projects delivery goals.
  • The Senior Program Manager position will own the planning, managing, tracking, reporting, communication, and execution of all ESD projects by collaborating and working with the other Project Managers.
  • This role is key to growing the efficiency and effectiveness of the ESD project delivery operations and overseeing multiple projects aligned to GTRI strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities:
  • Build strategic and trusted partnerships with all business operations and technical leads from all the GTRI
  • departments and ensure alignment with dynamic and evolving business needs.
  • Manage risks, milestones and associated deliverables, report on projects progress,
  • Provide escalation management, anticipate and resolve bottlenecks, and balance business needs with
  • technical constraints in order to provide timely updates on project health to a cross-functional executive
  • audience of technical, business, and operations stakeholders
  • Develop a long range plan for the portfolio managing multiple projects, which includes developing strategies
  • to prioritize the opportunity and deploy the capacity on the prioritized programs.
  • Own the creation of all Project Management artifacts for key projects using common frameworks,
  • methodologies, and standardized practices and approaches.
  • Responsible for ensuring projects are crafted to meet clearly articulated business objectives, and that effective
  • tracking mechanisms for objectives are established early in the project.
  • As projects are implemented, lead Change Management efforts to ensure clear communications and project
  • adoption
  • Orchestrates communications to provide clear project transparency
  • Actively manage project risks and develop mitigation plans of critical issues to leadership for timely resolution
  • Brings new practical project delivery improvements to the organization
  • Evangelize projects scope to maintain focus on core business objectives within time and budget constraints
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability as a full time IT Project Manager Principle leading large initiatives in Agile & Waterfall
  • organizations.
  • Outstanding cross-functional collaborator. Ability to facilitate relationships across teams and across the
  • organization
  • Inventive problem-solver who can lead key partners to address business problems, beyond assigning tasks a
  • and taking minutes
  • High attention to detail; excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to present at all levels
  • Motivated, self-starter, who can make progress quickly even when there is ambiguity
  • Must have the ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic, demanding and fluid environment and maintain a can-do demean or
  • Passionate about developing excellent structures, processes, and people.
Education:
  • A Bachelors or Master's degree in Business or equivalent is required
  • Advanced certifications such as PMP, Scaled Agile or similar is a plus
Required/Desired Skills: Skill Experience Demonstrated ability as a full time IT Project Manager Principle leading large initiatives in Agile & Waterfall organizations.
