We welcome candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community.DescriptionThe ideal candidate will be bilingual in Spanish/and/or Portugese: Experienced in Qualtrics, Adept in multi-media platforms, managing website updates, content and other social media platforms.Additional Duties, include:Work closely with Program Directors and the DUS to develop semester schedules, enter the data into Courseleaf system, and collect course descriptions/titles from faculty to be added to OPUS.

Set up and monitor courses that have tiered enrollment.

Work with the Chair and ADA to assign summer courses to interested faculty and enter the courses into Courseleaf; monitor enrollment levels and add sections as needed

Communicate with students about language placement prior to semester registration.

Act as liaison between third-party placement company and Emory IT team for automated placement batch runs.

Assist ADA and Chair in advising faculty on documents required for their reappointment or promotion cases on Interfolio; upload documents; collect/remind faculty of letters of support; create evaluation cover sheet for Interfolio upload.

Review senior students’ Degree Tracker for major graduation clearance in SPAN, SPANPRT and LACS.

Sign Course Completion Forms as representative of the SPANPORT department.

Work with Degree Tracker team on any changes to our four (4) majors that need to be reflected on Degree Tracker

Support SPAN and PORT DUSs in collecting data from faculty and students, and produce Qualtrics data reports for the bi-annual major assessment report.

Assist faculty in placing book adoptions every semester.

Process enrollment overloads after faculty approval.

Assign tasks and supervise the SPAN and PORT work-study students.

Support guest lecture visits and student event planning.

Support Casa Émory (themed housing) event planning.

Support end-of-year banquet planning.

Attend DUS and OUE meetings and report back to the department.

Maintain updates to the department’s website; serve as contact person between the department and the College Web Development team

Maintain departmental online surveys for student evaluations; assist faculty with semester-specific survey questions; act as contact between department and the Online Evaluations team

Job Description:Assists in coordinating one or more student academic functions for a school or program such as admissions, financial aid, registration or student placement.

Assists and advises students.

Maintains budget records and assists in budget administration.

Assists in preparing communication materials about a school or program.

Actively participates in committees pertaining to academic services.

Maintains and updates students' records in organized filing system and compiles reports from this.

May develop resources for students to address particular needs.

May supervise clerical personnel. Performs related responsibilities as required.

Minimum Qualifications:A bachelor's degree in the school's or program's area of specialty or a related field and one year of experience in student admissions, registration, financial aid or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Previous experience with various personal computer software applications.

Preferred Qualifications:Ability to use Spanish and/or Portuguese effectively in spoken and written communication.

Ability to manage departmental website and coordinate departmental use of social media.
