Job Description

As a result of growth, Chromalloy's Engineering Center of Excellence (ECOE) is in search of a New Production Readiness Program Manager.

Summary:Chromalloy is seeking a Program Manager for a position in Palm Beach Gardens, FL to support expanding business potential through the development of new technology and new products. The New Product Introduction (NPI) group has several ongoing programs and new opportunities in 2020. The near-term focus is on managing the transition from product inception/development through low rate initial production. The Program Manager will support all phases of Program execution through acceptance as a production program. The Program Manager will be responsible for leading a multi-functional team to deliver on cost, schedule and technical performance.

This position may also involve business capture, proposals and Capital Expense (CapEx) execution management as the NPI portfolio constantly adapts to the customer needs. The Program Manager will participate in the negotiation of contract details and contract modifications. This position is also responsible for assigned NPI Production Readiness coordination across all operating units including existing programs and maximizing new product opportunities. Technical oversight / critique of and application of lean principles to various NPI projects to assure design process compliance will also be an important responsibility.

Additional activities may include development of business plans and proposal documentation (Scope of Work (SOW)), which would include partnering for work statements, specifications, operating budgets, risk management and financial terms/conditions of contracts.

Additionally, the Program Manager will act as the primary production readiness contact for program activities to include leading program reviews, sessions with internal customers to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance to include business case development, requirements definition/mapping and execution of the program.

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Under the direction of the Production Readiness Program Director, perform regular monitoring, reporting and coordination on unit assigned readiness activity. Identify and implement actions to assure projects execute per plan, minimize barriers and provide coordination of ECoE support resources.
  • Develop standardized processes and tools that include financial models, business case analysis, tracking and reporting for NPI projects.
  • Participation on the team tasked with the overall NPI Production readiness process development evolution (planning, execution).

Challenges:

  • This is a critical position within the Engineering organization that is an important link to the operating units. Establishing trust and credibility with operating units will be a key success factor.
  • Driving the acceptance and adoption of wide scale change into previously independent operating units will require a measured, win-win approach.
  • Marshaling and motivating individuals without a direct reporting relationship.
  • Managing and measuring work in new and meaningful ways from a center-led function.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Undergraduate engineering degree, MBA preferred
  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience including at least 3 years in an equivalent role in a similar operating environment
  • Skills:
    • Demonstrated industry and product experience including in-depth technology/product knowledge, industry trends and the competitive landscape.
    • Effective collaboration skills to motivate and influence others at various levels without a direct reporting relationship.
    • Demonstrated strong analysis and financial modeling skills.
    • Demonstrated effective communication skill/style to present complex ideas in a compelling and comprehensive manner.
    • A relentless and versatile learner who is open to change and enjoys the challenge of unfamiliar tasks
    • Ability to use MS Project to manage detailed level 4 projects
    • Excellent computer experience using MS Excel, PowerPoint and other MS Office products.
