Boeing is looking for aSenior Production Engineer (Level 5)to support the Space Launch System as the Exploratory Upper Stage Production Systems Architect.The customer is pursuing ways to accelerate development of the on-again, off-again next evolution of the launch vehicle. The main change from the initial Block 1 vehicle to the Block 1B version of the rocket is the larger, higher performance Exploration Upper Stage (EUS).The architect will leverage best practices from the Block 1 production to ensure a good, producible design of the Block 1B build.The architect will reside atKennedy Space Center, FLwhile virtually supporting a geographically distributed team.Position Responsibilities:Provides production engineering build architecture expertise that advances production technologiesConceptualizes and oversees the implementation of the program architecture for buildDevelops manufacturing plans or concepts for high level program requirementsConducts producibility and variation analyses at the program Large Scale Systems Integration (LSSI) level and resolves complex technical problemsConsults on lean principles and technologies for enterprise-wide initiatives while communicating producibility best practicesConsults with upper management on long-range planningThis position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering field10+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role?5+ years of experienceinmanaging/maintaining Production Engineering processes and tools5+ years of experience indeveloping and optimizing efficient manufacturing plansPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Prior Space Launch System Production Engineering experienceMaster's in EngineeringfieldExperience in conducting complex producibility and variation analysesExperience in lean and first time quality principlesTypical Education/ Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:This position does not offer relocation.
