Job SummaryAECOM has an exciting opportunity for a project engineer to contribute to the water resources practice in the Tampa office. In this position, you will support the planning and design of water resources, environmental mitigation, flood mitigation, stormwater management, civil site development and stormwater conveyance projects in Florida. AECOM has been providing services to this market for over 50 years. Our services have spanned some of the most exciting water management projects in the region.As a member of our team, you would contribute to AECOM’s mission by:Under direct supervision perform engineering tasks in support of water resource projects.

-Perform site reviews and studies.Develop designs and specifications for water resource projects.

Assist in the preparation of construction plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Develop grading plans for wetland and hydrologic restoration projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Prepare and submit permit applications to the FDEP and five water managements in the State of Florida.

Design stormwater ponds, open channels, and closed underground piped storm sewers in accordance with

regulatory criteria.Perform bridge Scour analysis and the design of countermeasures at bridges to minimize scour.

Design erosion and sediment control best management practices (BMPs) and the preparation of

Develop Stormwater Pollution Plans (SWPPPs) for construction sites and existing industrial land uses in

accordance with the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) regulated by the FDEP .Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

Preparing through technical reports documenting engineering design and drainage analyses

Assist with master planning.

Develop computer models for large watersheds as well as smaller drainage areas associated with design

projects on ICPR, HEC-RAS and SWMM.Submit technical papers to conferences and journals.

Participate in professional societies relevant to the industry.

Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.

Identifies discrepancies in results.

Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.

2+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred QualificationsRegistration as an Engineer Intern or ability to obtain within 12 months, PE preferred.

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills.

Excellent computer skills including MS word and Excel.

Experience with ICPR, GIS and AutoCAD.

Superior organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
