Northrop Grumman Defense Systems MAF DMO is seeking a Principal System Administrator to join our dynamic and diverse team environment in Orlando, FL.Primary responsibility is to support the hardware design, development, and integration of ground processing stations of satellite data. These systems have a mix of Operating Systems (LINUX, Windows) in both development lab environments and deployed operational environments. Perform new server builds using Windows-based provisioning and perform level 2 support for system configuration, setup, and requested baseline configuration changes. Duties may include scripting for optimizing IT environment, project management for defining and implementing upgrades to the IT environment, and serving as consultant for computer problems beyond the knowledge of engineering staff. Communications Systems Engineers must demonstrate a blend of engineering, advanced technical skills and excellent communication abilities. Administration and hardening of classified network system utilizing risk management framework.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with 6 years of related experience; Master's Degree with 4 year of related experience; or an additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Experience administering Windows Servers, Linux (RHEL), and/or VMware ESXi systems including installation and configuration of the operating system, user administration, backup and restoration, and troubleshooting functional issues
  • Experience configuring servers and workstations for RMF compliance utilizing 800-53 and 800-171 frameworks
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT level 2, or level 3, security certification (example: GSEC, Security+ CE, CISA); OR must have the ability to obtain one within 6 months of start date
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment and be able to adapt quickly to change
  • Active Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Creating accurate, detailed technical procedures & integration plans
  • Developing detailed documentation for Hardware Requirements Specification and High Level Design documents for deliverable systems
  • Experience with use of Atlassian tools such as Confluence and Jira,
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting issues with Unitrends and Solarwinds, Sharepoint, McAfee EPO, ACAS and Splunk
  • Experience with Ansible development and management
  • Working knowledge of Agile principles and practices
