Spectrum Networks seeks to provide the most essential local news and information, cultivating relevant and thoughtful conversations that foster informed and engaged communities.

The Environment: Spectrum News operates in a 24-hour news cycle which can require employees to be flexible and available to work various shifts, including early morning, late evenings, weekends and holidays.

What we're looking for: a Digital Producer who will be

responsible for producing content for Spectrum Networks' digital products, including assigned news channels' websites, mobile apps and social media sites.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES•Rely on solid editorial judgment to recognize and rapidly respond with accuracy and precision to breaking news while actively seeking to distribute the news our community needs to know•Take an assertive role in creating and adapting Spectrum News content effectively for various digital platforms, including our mobile and connected TV apps, website and social media•Collaborate with TV news reporting staff on digital presentation of stories, from editing copy and photos to improving headlines and SEO, to significantly increase production value of linear stories across digital platforms•Participate in news editorial meetings to pitch stories and provide digital perspectives on approaches to content coverage•Craft social media post copy and video/image elements that are impactful and compelling to users, and interact with followers on the network's social media accounts to foster engagement and grow the audience•Collaborate with Florida's linear teams and with other digital teams across the network's growing footprint on various and initiatives requiring cross-market and cross-platform integration•Build site content widgets and special sections that highlight priority content in an engaging way.•Assist with the generation, aggregation, management and utilization of user-generated content.•Track metrics and assist the team in making strategic content changes when necessary.•Stay familiar with trends within the industry to support creative direction•Ability to work under time pressure deadlines•Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:Skills/Abilities and Knowledge•Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English•Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with news editorial, creative, and administrative personnel•Strong writing and editing skills including knowledge and adherence to AP style•Knowledge of best practices on professional journalism social media accounts•Must be able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and in a deadline driven environment•Must have strong news judgement and play an active role in news gathering•Strong time management and organizational skills•Must be technically savvy and have excellent computer skills and internet search techniques•Familiarity with internet publishing workflow, including experience with a content management system, image editing software, video editing tools, and social media platforms•Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere for producing high quality digital elements•Ability to tell engaging stories in the digital space by adding video assets, photos, social posts, etc.•Must be able and willing to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays, and be flexible with schedule changes

Required EducationBachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or related field or comparable television work experience

Required Related Work Experience and Number of YearsEditorial experience producing news, sports and lifestyle content - 2+

WORKING CONDITIONSNormal office environmentWorks in an open newsroom setting with a semi-noisy environmentWorks different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes or longer shifts due to "breaking news" and severe weather emergencies. Willing and able to work weekends and holidays
