Network Operations Engineer

Network Operations team holds accountability for the availability and stability of the network services within the Enterprise Technology portfolio. This includes Data Center networks, Wide Area and Metro Area networks, Wi-Fi, end-user LANs, firewalls, WAN acceleration, application load-balancing and a wide array of supporting technologies. The Sr. Network Operations Engineer is in a unique position to have expertise in the networking technologies like routing and switching (especially in the Cisco Nexus platform), load-balancing, firewalls and/or wireless to assist in the higher levels of support responsibilities. Primary Responsibilities:-

• Execute Network remediation activities on devices to prep the device for IPV6.
• Network remediation activities include correcting BGP, ISIS, SNMP and other configuration in line with the established standards
• Work with service provider partner to ensure the proper level of technical acumen and quality are executed within the contracted services.
• Understand the approach required to influence and motivate managed services resources to deliver technically sound services.
• Identify the need for technical process improvement plans, and work with leader to create and socialize plans; manage all or a portion of the execution of the improvement plan.
• This position is a hands-on, highly involved position. The ideal person will have a strong background in various networking technologies and will require work outside of normal business hours.
• Assist with the sustainment activities of the specialized support customer networks with direct revenue impact, including theme park attractions.
• Accountable for developing and socializing technical solution and process-based strategies for functions within defined roles and responsibilities.
• Responsible for influencing the strategies of peer organizations ensuring that their strategic plans are in alignment with the technical direction of Network Operations and/or Strategy and Architecture.

• 7+ years in either a large IT shared services organization or telecom service provider environment
• Expert level knowledge and understanding of Networking Protocols & Technologies such as: Ethernet, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, Cisco HW and SW (IOS/IOS-XR/NX-OS), Juniper HW and SW (JUNOS), Firewalls, Load Balancers, Security protocols, MPLS, QoS and IP Multicast
• Familiarity with hardware and transmission technologies (e.g., cabling, optical fiber, WAN and transport, routing, firewalls, LAN/VLANs switches, SDN, etc.)
• Exceptional communication skills are a must. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively at a variety of levels and to communicate intricate technical and procedural matters to both technical and non-technical personnel across diverse cultures
• Ability to understand fairly complex network infrastructure quickly during major incidents and provide technical leadership appropriately to drive issue resolution
• Ability to manage time effectively to accommodate work outside of normal business hours
• Strong customer, quality and results orientation
• Ability to be an effective team member and technical leader
• Ability to recognize and embrace change as the external environment and organization evolves
• Good understanding of how IT technology supports the Enterprise and the Business Segments
• Ability to communicate and multi-task under pressure

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred
• Technical Certifications like CCNP are highly desirable.
• Experience with Palo Alto hardware and certification is a plus
• Experience with Wi-Fi hardware and certification is a plus
• ITIL V3 and advanced certification is a plus
• Network Automation experience is a plus.
• Experience with Cisco DNA is a plus

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field is required
