Under the direction of the ACNO, the Clinical Resource Nurse (CRN) is responsible for clinical practice in Med Surg Departments. The CRN functions as a member of a multi-disciplinary, facility focused team driving nursing expertise.

What you will do in this role in addition to other duties as assigned:

  • You will ensureselection and training for Med Surg preceptors in conjunction with the nursing leadership team.
  • You will guides clinical performance, and improvepatient outcomes and patient safety by using evidenced based practice.
  • You will serveas the primary preceptor for all new staff members and collaboratewith the multidisciplinary team to ensure successful onboarding.
  • You will recognizepractice opportunities with new staff members and workwith the unit leadership team and preceptors to remove barriers and enhance evidenced based practice standards.
  • You will have complete oversight of all unit preceptors and collaboratewith unit leaders to ensure preceptor competency.
  • You may have direct supervision of students at the discretion of the CNO/ACNO.


What qualifications you may need:

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or higher is required; MSN is preferred
  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
  • BLS as approved by policy
  • ACLS as approved by policy
  • Certification in Specialty
  • Minimum 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience
  • Minimum 1 year of formalized teaching preferred
